Backpressure

Could cutting off the muffler on a hardbody cause it to idle a little rough, and feel like it lost a little horsepower? thanks

not the muffler,but both muffler and cat,yes

do you have any ideas on what else could cause this? the truck wouldnt start the other day, wasnt getting spark from one coil. my friend replaced it and it starts/runs now.. just he feels it lost power and it idles rough.

i did it to mine and fouled my 2 rear plugs put a muffler back on it man....

so all you cut off was the muffler alone and it fouled plugs?

Put on a cheap ass autozone glass pack. the ka24e sounds like shit without a muffler. a 2.5" glasspack will make it sound nice, plus its cheap as hell, and you will gain some low end grunt. mine idled kinda weird after i cut the muff off, then after a few days it smoothed out. i guess it's the computer learning the new shit. when/if u put the glasspack on, it will idle weird for a few dasy too, at least mine did. i dunno if its normal or not, mind idled funny a few days after i cut it off, and a few days after i put the 'pack on.

i worked at an exhaust shop all summer and without any restrition of flow you will have no backpressure and hte motor will run a lil ruff and be ungodly loud which is all good but my recommendation is to put it back on put anything on gain some gas mileage if anything (sorry for the spelling i'm kinda drunk)

indeed you are drunk. lol. i am on my 45th beer, but i am still sober. a puny motor requires a free flow muffler like a glasspack, and a real motor requires a chambered design like a flowmaster or equivelant.

well man get a glasspack, and cut ya caddy off get ya motor good and warmed up and it will shoot a lil flame shits kinda cool sounds allright too... but without a muffler u will foul plugs... or ull fuck up ur lifters ... so do it right and put some kind of muffler on it...
