I have a 94 with a 3.18 in it. I want to pull the engine so I can break it down to paint and install new parts, like valve covers, spark plugs, and numberous small things like that.

I have the front fenders off already and I plan to take off the bumper and raditor. So I pretty much have a lot of room to pull the engine. My questions are, how hard is it to do? What do I have to worry about before I pull the engine? Do I need to drain all the fulids? About how long does it take? I just want to know what all I am getting into before i do it because I am having a shop pull it out and then I will prep it for paint. Thanx

if your takin the whole front clip off its easy...same as any other motor. just take a picture of all the wiring so you can put it all back on right.

I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING TAKING THE FRONT CLIP OFF, JUST TAKE THE HOOD OFF AND DRAIN THE COOLANT DISCONNECT AND YOU SHOULD HAVE IT OUT IN NO MORE THAN 30MINUTES

drain all fluids disconnect your lines and wires if you are leaving the trans in the truck you will have to support the front of the trans and don't forget to take the converter bolts loose. I think you can just loosen the exaughst and pull the engine with the manafolds still on it but it might be easyer since you have the front end off to pull the whole thing the only thing you would have to do then is pull your exaughst trans cooler lines and drive shaft don't forget to disconnect the batt and disconnect the starter.
