88 dodge d50 motor

my friend has a dodge d 50 and needs a motor??....i think he should go with a eclipse turbo but he thinks a 318 would be the best.....which should he do?? and which will be easiest??

starion 2.6lturbo. its a direct swap for the 2.6l that came in the power ram 50. all you need to get is the motor intact and the pcm and all the wireing. The conquest tsi and the starion had this motor in them and ite pretty ballsy when built right.

ya I was goingto put the 4g63T engine in my truck but decided to build my 2.6 because i found out that you can get up to 700+hp out of the engine if you fully build them with turbo. My engine is being built right now and will be putting out over 350hp once it's done and thats non-turbo and naturally asperated.

Eclips turbo the ram 50 is already a mitsu

so is the starion that was a mits. its just that the starion motor is a direct bolt up to the stock tranny and the eclipse would require a ton of work.

the block from a late 80s (89-9?0 eclipse/plymouth laser should bolt to the tranny, youll have to weld up some motor mounts, the Mopar V8 wont bolt to anything in a D50

Be different. find a 2.4 turbo Galant or something. I want to put a 340 in mine. What ever he has access to and knows best will work for him.
