I just added a light weight flywheel and stage one exeddy clutch.
It wasnt cheap but when your running the stock clutch and flywheel with over 270,000 miles it helps to change over. I noticed a huge diffrence. mainly because the clutch was slipping for the last 15k.
here are some pics.
first start with a clean truck.
Then take out the drive shaft.
after removing the drive shaft remove the shifter and covers to the shifter.
I would also say if their is no rush do a short shifter. I decided to wait till later. then remove the transmission. you will use mainly 12, mm 13mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, and air tools kick ass!.
Now is a good time to do a rear main seal or do some cleaning. I also cleaned my trans when I had it out and didnt take any pics sorry
inspect the old clutch. I found the springs in my clutch were worn and broken. my flywheel was only brushed in 3 spots i could have machined it but decided to go light weight (9lbs).
check out that new flywheel and keep red bull on hand to keep you motivated.
here is the new set up see for the last time till I brake that. be sure to torque everything to spec.
now look at the mess you made clean that bench (or toolbox). this was only half the stuff i also used a good friend to help pull the trans (not pictured).
