ok guys-- my 99 sonoma battery was dead the other day. i figured it was just a light i left on or something. so i got jumped and got home. the battery was fine that night and was dead again in the morning. I took it to Auto Zome to have them recharge and load test the battery and alternator and they both tested good, so i figured it must be something draining on the battery while it sits.

Is there anything u can suggest. Can a load test miss a dead cell? ANy help would be great.

need to test for a parasitic draw, take a dvom put it on ma or a (just matters on your tester) put the negative on the battery cable and the positive on the post and lift the cable off the post. u should get a ma reading anything 30ma and over is excessive then u need to find the draw buy pulling fuses untill that draw goes away.

I had a problem something like that with my truck once and it turned out to be a loose ground to the engine. Battery wasn't getting a sufficient charge. Also found later a loose connection on the alternator. The loose ground happened right after I had an alarm installed so I thought I was the alarm causing it so ripped it out and then found the loose ground....chapped my ass!! LOL
