I've got a panasonic cd/mp3 player i've had for a couple of years now. I really like it, but as of yesterday... it's dead to me lol. It no longer will read a disc, ANY disc. I noticed tuesday some noise in the background sort of like you get on a burnt file sometimes.. but this was on all my cd's. Then yesterday when i left work, I popped the cd out, put a new one in.. and I got an E1 error, plese Eject CD. I get this sometimes on scratched stuff. But now its on everything. I noticed it didn't even sound like the disc was trying to play, so I took it all apart, pulled the top cover off so I can watch the disc go in. Sure enough, it never spins. I can actually manually (with a pen) turn the CD and its like jump starting a car... once I spin it, it'll play. I think the problem is i put in some cd's that had some shit spilled on them... and that possibly caked up some junk inside (sorry for all the Non-Audio correct termanology). Is there a way to clean or lubricate the wheel that spins the disc, or am I fighting a losing battle. It sucks b/c 90% of the stuff I listen to is MP3... i've got my factory cd player but we know how great those are.anybody?mike
