alright draggin along saturday night when all the sudden the truck falls on its face and starts popping through the exhaust. What the heck I have changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, compression check. Finally i cut the exhaust off ,o.k. this helped but when I got new mufflers put on it came back a little. I am stumped any help from anyone would be appreciated. DRAG SAFELY!!!

???did you also change the cat???I know the cat can get clogged, how many miles are on it??

NO Cats on the truck (true duals with 40 series flows) Is it possible that it could have jumped time and how do you check it

IF YOU REMOVED THE CATS AND RAN THE TRUCK TO A POINT THAT IT GOT TO HOT YOU MAY CHECK THE O2 SENSORS OR LOOK AT THE FLANGE ON THE EXHUATS COUPLER.

Hey man my 98 tahoe dose the same and its got the 350. I put true dual 40serries flowmasters on it and changed the plugs, wires and checked timming everything is good. It still dose it so iam going to cut off the cats and if that dosent work iam going to put a X pipe or H pipe or some kind of balance between the two pipes and hopefully that works and stops the poping....

Right now the drivers side has the flowmaster sound and the passanger side sounds like a boat.

"True" duals will cause loss of power without a h or x pipe, but this problem wasn't happening when you first changed the exhaust?

sounds to me like the exhaust is to freeflowing and youve got a burnt valve or something an exhaust provides backpressure to help the valves close so if your not running cats youve got to make up for the loss of backpressure and thats why you didnt notice right at first because a valve can burn and engine will still run ok for a while it will just lose small amount of power little by little unitl it sticks

I have also been told that it may be a bad fuel injector that is pouring too much fuel at idle into the cylinder? Dose that seem like it would cause my problem. Because my truck only dose it at idel once it gose over idel the poping gose away.
