305 and 350 share the same block right, just different internals/heads? What is different about the 307. 305s and 350s can be bolted in the same mounting points and use the same transmission. But I have heard the 307 is wider?? Will a TH200 work on a 307?

Also, I heard that the oil pan is also different on the 307. Someone told me you can not bolt a 350 in place because the 307 vehicles come with a different crossmember?

This is confusing.

Man as far as it really matters all of the blocks are the same 283,302,305,307,327,350,400 They will all take the same tranny. The reason the oil pan is different is technology and model year they didn't make 305 when they were making 307 if the crossmember is different it was because of different models or even different cars. 400 has more freeze out plugs than the others ,but other than that they are all basically the same

well the 305 is tha same block desgin with a different bore, 307 has a different stroke 2 but those r the 2 common motors that were used besides the 350s the 302s came in a 69 z-28 and are a one year only type but u can make one by usin a 283 block with a special crank and u have to bore it out to make a 302 but 305 and 307 u really cant do much to them
