Yesterday I got back from Characters show in Santa Rosa. Mad Props for a cool small show and hang out. It was there I started to think about this lifestyle and how much it has grown since I was first introduced to this great sport. I've seen a lot of bad things happen in this lifestyle. More good than bad thankfully but as everyone knows there are always a few to ruin it for the masses. But through all of the thick and thin, good and bad, there have always been minitruckers there for me. These people have always been there to lend a helping hand to someone they have just met. I was recently at a big name show thrown by "G**D GUYS" and noticed a younger kid having trouble with some motor problems. He asked a "veteran" hot rodder for some help and the guy told him to go to hell. Now, this kid did nothing to the man next to him but ask for his help. Being, a minitrucker and with some fellow minitruckers we decided to help him. He got it going and couldn't be more thankful. That kid now has a new perspective on people. I had the same problem growing up. We are usually looked down upon for our vehicles but everyone I have met in this lifestyle has been more than generous and happy to lend their knowledge or a helping hand. I am thankful that there are so many people willing to help a upcoming minitrucker. There are some people that don't seem to "get it" when it comes to style, or functionality, but hopefully instead of looking down on it; people can lend a helping hand and help them to find a better or cleaner way to execute something. Instead of critisizing, HELP! That person will (hopefully) take it to heart and remember that forever and help evolve and push this lifestyle to the next level. So, please remember when you think something isn't to a certain standard, remember who it was that helped you along the path and try to be that person for someone else. So, thats my take. Peace, and keep pushing the limits.

Well, all things taken in to consideration I would like to apologize on behalf of Goodguys and any of the "less than accomodating" membership that you or your new friend might have come in to contact with. It's embarrasing. I'm a GG Rep, and freelance writer for GG and NSRA. To be point blank about it, the "go to hell" attitude pisses me off. I've been where that guy was, and it sucks. The only thing that makes it worse is feeling like your alone. Any REAL car guy has had problems, and will continue to have problems as long as they're in the sport.

The willingness of others to help and sacrifice is what makes this a COMMUNITY instead of a competition. You are justified in being upset, as is the guy that broke down. Car guys are car guys...mini-trucks, tuners, 69 Camaro, 57 Chevy, 32 Ford. It doesn't make a damn. You're in or you're out, and its apparent by your situation that there are a few people that need to be out. Keep doing what you're doing, and I'm 100% behind you. If I have to tell a guy in a $100,000 fiberglass '33 to shut the f@*k up on your behalf I'm more than willing.

On another note, I would be interested to know if "go to hell" guy trailered his ride to the event. I wouldn't be surprised...there are almost as many car haulers as there are cars at some events.

yeah. And I do understand that there are always a few to ruin it for the masses in every culture its just that with mini truckin its always been about family. When I was into the whole "race" crowd, not once did I ever have someone try and talk to me it was always talking shit and trying to "race" me. With mini truckin its always about progression and meeting and helping others. That was one of the first things that got me into this lifestyle, the people. All of my best friends I have met through mini trucking. I have been in most of the other vehicle "groups" and this one, to me, has by far the best people I will ever meet or have met. I just want to thank everyone who takes the time to read this and actually take it to heart.
