I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT USED GENERATION 3 (1992-C?) MAZDA RX7'S (ROTERY ENGINE), AND MOST HAVE REBUILT ENGINES. ARE THERE ANY COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THESE CARS? I AM A TRUCK GUY AND KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS. PLEASE HELP!

If your going to buy a 3rd generation, make sure you get a 94 or newer. The 93 was the first year and had alot of recals and alot of problems were under hood fires and vacuum lines. (which is a well known problem with the sequential turbo system) Some things were just bad and not recalled like the interior panels. 1993 the panels all peel. In 94 and up the panels where changed to a textured plastic instead of a laminate.

Rotary motors have a common problem with there apex seals, especially under higher boost.Alot of people use 3mm instead of 2mm seals when building these motors. But good payoff those wankels make good power fairly easy.Plus it's a great looking car with a 50/50 wieght distrubtion.
