hi my name is jack, I live in VA. I have been lurking on this forum for a while. I own a 96 single cab tacoma 2RZ/5 speed. It has a 4 1/4 cut floor BD, canti-4 link, etc etc.

When I did the BD I removed everything from the cab, and ran all of the wiring harness back out the firewall so nothing would be harmed. I am now done with the BD and I put everything back. AND now I am having some terrible electrical gremlins.

With the key out of the ignition, as soon as you connect the battery, the high beam indicators come on along with check engine light. The left rear turn signal comes on (does not flash) and stays on.

If you turn the left turn signal the heater blower motor comes on, when you turn the right signal it clicks over the EFI relay under the hood, when you put the key in the ignition and turn nothing happens(no clicks or anything), I checked the 3 wires going to the headlights and ALL 3 wires have a 12 volt signal.I have checked all the grounds in the cab and the battery was out of the truck.

this is a absolute nightmare, I do not understand how this happend. I dont hack up trucks.

I am thinking it is a fried module, I have checked schematics and there are 3 of them.

does anyone have any parts trucks/modules? Also any help greatly appreciate it, becuase I have missed this show season

sweet truck, welcome to the site. where you at in va?

and sorry, only answer i have for your question it pull the dash and follow every wire, thats gonna suck.

welcome to the site, really all you could do is follow each wire or test each function with a test light and try to get the wire where it needs to go. your whole harness just has a bunch of plugs on the end of it doesnt it? basically its just unplug it and then plug it back together.... you might be able to talk to a tech at the toyota dealer about it and see what they think.

good luck with everything, truck looks good.

it sounds like you are forgetting about some grounds you dis-connected and havent re-connected...all of the grounds have to be hooked up and grounded well, otherwise things will freak out .

thanks for the compliments guys. I live in nelson county which is above Charlottsville.

Yup I have redone all grounds, and Looked at all the wires. Im pretty sure a module is fried. I have done everything I can think of to do.I stopped working on it over 3 months ago.

when it starts to cool off some my old high school auto mechanics teacher will come and figure it out. I have had several people look at it and leave scratching thier head, but my old teacher would be the only one to get it going again.

So anybody got any parts trucks that I can get the 3 modules out of?
