Popping out of gear?

I have an old 82 Toy that I am looking into purchasing as a daily, its equipped with a 22r and 5 Speed.

Now I took it for a spin recently and going up and down in the gears is smooth and fine, but when jumping into 4th it eventually pops out of gear, but you can get around this by putting it into gear, easing of the clutch and then with some instant revs which seems to work by holding it place

Any idea what the problem could be regarding the box popping out of gear?

probably just needs a shifter seat and bushing, can pick them up at a dealer for around 20 bucks.

probably b4 ur time in the forum. last thankgiving my house caught on fire, my 82 toy was caught under the carport, then later stolen by sacvenger car yard(f**kin worthless pieces of s**t). so now looking for a new project. btw Vegas, i know where ur balancer is,ROFLMAO

check the syncroes as well inside the tranny. those are what keeps the gears from grinding when shifting gears. i know when they are worn they will cause it to slip out as well.
