im not sure if my compressor (viar 450) is taken a crap or my pressure switch is bad. teh switch is a viar also with 200 off and 165 on. i used to able to lift my van fully with out waiting 120 rear and 80 front. now that its been sitting for a year i cant. the compressor runs like hell then cuts off like usual but doesnt seem to have as much pressure as before. also when the compressor cuts off it will kick on for a second every 30 seconds are so like its just at the edge of triggering the switch.sorry for the book, just lookin for some ideas.thanks, vandy

check the wiring, relay etc..

You compressor may be on the verge of dying. Its only rated to 150 psi, not to the 200 psi you're running it to. I'd try a 110-on, 150-off pressure switch first and see if that solves your problem. In the long term though, you have already overdriven your compressor and shortened its service life. The warranty is also shot since its been operated over its rated working pressure. Best of luck!

Hey Lance, would a rebuild kit maybe help in some way? Or does it sound like that wouldn't help? Good luck either way..

toss it and get a 380. it's rated at 200 psi.

oh well. ive had the comp. for like 2.5 years so its out of warranty anyway. but i bought the pressure switch and compressor together. seems like someone would have said something. i really need to go with 2 compressors anyway.just havnt had the money.
do they offer a rebuild kit for a 450?

Yea they do, there was a post recently about them, and I remember Rick (forbidden alero) from Forbidden Motorsports had the different kits to rebuild certain parts. Give him a call.. 317-534-8241
