raising gas tank or relocating

I have a 94 chevy full size ext cab that is bagged. I noticed the gas tank is very low to the ground. I was wondering if yall knew if i could raise it(and how much if i can) or is it a lot safer just to relocate it to inside the bed.

notch the crossmember running over the gas tank. I notched mine about 1.5" high. I daily drag my truck, and the tank doesnt drag at all. It's a good 1-1.5" off the ground right now.
