Carbon Fiber, can backyard diy work?

I wanted to do a lot of carbon fiber on my car. Though my model cavalier is limited to its aftermarket products. With this said I have hand built and put many many and many hours into making this car it's own kind. I have custom built a hood for it and now that I'm done with the f/g I would like to lay a sheet of carbon fiber over it. My Q: is how is thie process done? can you lay a layer of epoxy the lay the carbon fiber mat over that then use a squeege to level it out? plz let me know, this car is ready to go to the next level.

carbon fiber isnt as easy as laying fiberglass, to bond carbon fiber requires you to put the piece your doing in a vacuum to get all the air out and level the resin, plus to get it to completly cure it has to be baked. in a very hot furnice for a short time, or at low temp for a long time.

if your just going for the look, and laying it on top of your f/g just use the vinyl, looks like c/f but kinda ghetto. if you really want a c/f hood there are plenty for you car, they make fenders, wings, trunk decks, they even make door skins for the cavalier.

94 is a second generation... I have found one hood that is poorly made and I refuse to buy it do to its wavy structure. I have thought about buying a large sheet of C/F vinyl and laying that over my hood then clear coating that its self. Does anyone see that as a decent idea? I have seen 2 show cars that have one first place trophies that have doen this, but the vinyl that was laid on there hood was electronicly cut and fitted to the exact hood its self. I may get into laying carbon fiber for a hobby but I need a quick idea for the time being (as far as my hood goes.) Does anyone think I should neglect the vinyl idea? Thinks for the link as well...
