Anyone running a weber carb??

Anyone running a single weber carb on their 22r? I'm at a loss on the vacuum line setup, I don't know what I need as far as vac for the carb, distributor, BSBV valve and the intake.

I have the pvc running to the intake where the EGR tube used to go, The valve cover vent is going to the bottom of the air filter housing, and the dist. vacume advance comes off the metered vacume connection on the side of the carb. My carb is a 36DGEV. I capped off the EGR with a pipe cap and did away with tha bulky vac can usually found under the carb by the a/c compressor. I also blocked off all of the old vac fittings on the intake and the EGR.

Ok, that helps a little. My vac. advance has 2 ports. Does one get connected and one capped??

I capped of the one farthest away from the dist., or was it the closest, heck, I just can't remember now and my truck is at home. Hook up one, put a timing light on when you get it running, rev it up and if the timing advances, you got the right one. If it doesn't, then put the line on the other one. Sorry I can't remember, and I can't tell in my picture very well.

wow wow wow, your only supposed to cap off one of the vaccume advance lines on the dist.? i think both of mine were capped. im gonna have to look into this. my truck still advances. i heard with a bigger cam shaft, the vac. advance doesnt really work because it causes the vac. to advance when it shouldnt or it throws it off or something like that so they were capped off. does any of that make sense?


quinn as far as the bsbv valve thingy, if its similar to the one i got from you, all it does is control the choke. it screws into a cooling jacket on the intake right? webers run a entire different type of choking system dont they?

Yes, weber's use an electric choke all it needs is a hot wire. Are you needing another BSBV valve Jeff ??? I have like 6 of them now, lol.

Jeff on your cam, did you install it? if you did there should have been something in there if it would affect vacuum or not. More than likely not, its usually the cams with a high lift and long duration is what messes with the vacuum. I know in my mustang it has a very lopey, big lift, long duration cam. I had to put a vacuum pump on it so it could build enough vacuum for the brakes to work. If you have your specs on it or know who the manufacturer was I may be able to help you out with getting the info.
