Has anyone with a carbed 2.3L ever swapped their engine in favor of the 2.3L Fuel Injected Version. My head gasket went on me today, so I need to pull it all apart and replace it, but I'd much rather just purchase a Fuel Injected Long Block, and swap it in. If anyone has done this what else would I need, obviously the computer, and engine wiring harness, but is it a necessity to switch over the body wire harness, or does anyone have any wiring tips ?

Thanks

Brad

i don't know about a fuel injected 2.3 but i swapped my carb'd 2.3 for th 4ze1 2.6 i had to swap wiring harnesses and fuel tanks (or you can run an inline electric fuel pump but they're spendy) hope this helps.

MY ELEC FUEL PUMP WAS 30 BUCKS

yeah but you have a 2.3.. the ones that have enough pressure for fuel injection are 150+ usually

Im swapping in a 2.6 also, Do I have to swap in the truck harness or just the engine harness, Im also swapping in a 98 rodeo dash since I have one laying around, Scott did you mount you gas tank in the back behind the axle?

Heys guys hows it going?

slammed civic, tyou will only need to change the engine wiring harness, the body one will be fine.

good luck...

i went ahead and swapped the entire harness... i guess you don't have to but mine was a little hacked so i just replaced all the wires.. anyways you do have to have the engine harness, comp, and the rear harness(that goes from under the cab to the rear) unless you want to wire up the fuel pump yourself.. i would say the easiest route would be to swap everything, not too much more work. Also- i did mount my gas tank behind the axle in between the rear frame rails. --good luck & post more q's if you need any help or just im me

Ive got an electric external fuel pump already installed, Ive also got a fuel cell on its way. I figure I'll probably run the 2.6L FI Engine out of the spacecab. The trannys are compatible right ?
