i know they are not sposed to be reused but i was told that if they thread in by hand they are still good. need to get it done tomarrow for the show on sunday and i dont think ill be able to get new headbolts. has anyone reused them before. WHAT HAPPEN?

DON'T reuse them !!!! i reused some on my truck and a couple of them broke in the block and one in the head. i still can't get the one out of the head

sonofa... how bout hardware store, anyone just got grade 8 bolts with the right pitch and length? they wont stretch though, what will happen?

just go to advanced auto parts they should have them. do it right. also I dont know how they could get stuck in the head like that guy said.... because theres no threads in the head.

the reason you cannot reuse them is because they are "torque to yield" bolts....they actually stretch when you torque them down and the torque specs will be way off if you reuse them

you are correct sir.... get new ones definately, otherwise you will be alot worse off that you are right now...
