Well i just an exhaust muffler and cold air intake for my 2003 cavalier, got the exhaust on no problem. but the cold air intake was universal arospeed... had to fab so much to get it on. i had to buy a flex pipe to run to it. well the problem was about halfway home when my check engine light came on. did not get on it or act a fool but there is a burning smell. is the light normal to come on and the smell normal? or am i over reacting? any help would be appreciated.

The smell might be the new exhaust. Is it a cat-back?? It might just be the new burning off. As far as the cel, either take it to the auto parts store and pull the code, and double check to make sure you did not unplug anything while hookin up the intake. Good Luck!!

check engine lights are normal if there is something wrong and the same for if you smell something burning, get under the hood and check it out. did you burn the pipe, is a sensor unhooked?
