Anybody know any cheap mods that I can do to my motor to get it to go just a little bit faster???

I own a 1984 pickup with a 22r motor in it.

I just dont want to be dumping hundreds into the motor, I was more curious about cheap and easy mods to get maybe 10 hp or more total.

Aftermarket carb and intake like a weber and Offenhauser and headers.

Any type of street performance cam, msd plug wires & ignition coil & I think lc engineering makes a pulley for that truck too

I agree with both. I put a Weber 36DGEV carb and an RV rated cam in my 22r and got tons more power. I went with the RV cam because it's power range is idle-4500. Much bigger and the power doesn't kick in until 1500 or higher. I only lost a few mpg with the carb, but got great throttle response off idle. My truck is 4wheel drive and in 4 low, it makes enough power to idle up incredibly steep hills with me out side "ridin' the whip" next to it. Not that that is what you'd be doing.

haha ok sweet.

so all in all i could have a decently fast motor for around $6-800?

sweet, may have to look into that.

Fast, no; peppier, yes

There are a couple of companies that build parts for the 22r. They are good products but youd think the shit was made out of gold for the prices they charge.

Performance is pricey, & quality parts don't come cheap!!

haha hey man didnt even see your post on here lol

anyways, yeah I know its expensive.... ill probably just stick with suspension for now, but I have never had a carberated motor and I figured why not mess around with it and learn a few things.
