Gonna put a 305 in mine.....

Alright I am gonna do it...my friend is gonna sell me his 92 chev 1500 with a 305 for a motor. My question what tranny do i want to use...the one on his truck or a diff one? Drive shaft thats easy but...rear end what do i need that will fit under the back of a mazda?

what transmission does he have? is his truck 4WD?

rear end you have lots of options. you could take your chances with the stock tranny. you could put a toyo 4x4 under there. i personally have a '73 bronco 9" that is within an inch of the same width as stock. or you could get any 9" and shorten it to whatever width you need.

honestly i have a isuzu 4x4 rear end in my truck with a mildly built 350 and it is holding up great but i dont' know how heavy a 4x4 mazda rear is

a friend of mine has a boss 302 and he doesent go easy on it and he still has the stock rear end in it for about 2 and 1/2 years now

Alright im gonna do it, found a motor and tranny and a conversion kit from Ultimate Kustoms, my question today is, is there a set of headers that will clear everything or am i going to have to use the oem manifolds?

theres a mazda single cab around here with a boss 302 in it and he is using the stock rear end. has been for a few years

I have a 351 winsor in my 90 mazda b2200 and still runnin the stock rear, The only way u will brake the spider gears is if u hook up and it's pretty hard to hook up..lol..

bump for the header question....and what yr carb'd is the best to use? Because i want to go carburated...

what kind of engine did you get? Get a holley 650 double pumper! I had that on my 85 mustang and boy that thing worked great! But that was like 10yrs ago not sure if holley makes those anymore. I also forgot what headers it had. so sorry I cant really help ya. Interested to know also cause I wanted to put a 302 in my 86.
