Okay guys here's my story. I am currently looking for a C-10 67 to 72 in my area. I came across two at very different stages of restoration and price. The first one is a 67 GMC that is about 80% restored to stock. The asking price on that one is $3000. The second is actually two trucks, Chevys, a 69 Sidestep and a 70 Fleetside with a 9 foot box. He told me that they are about 25% restored. The guy is asking $400 for both of these trucks. The question I ask is what should I invest my money into? I am by no means a master mechanic, I only know the basics. Anyways, let me know what you think I should do. Thanks in advance.

both are awesome proces for the work put in IF the work is quality. id ask myself, "what do i want to do to this thing?"
my personal answer is to cut it up and lay it on its rockers on 22s. not everyones answer tho. w/ my answer, id be looking for a straight body w/ minimal rust. the frame would probably be thrown away. and id want a full custom interior. so that would mean id spend $400.

if you want to cruise it around, maybe bag it. no b/d. just a clean ride...id go with the $3000 one.

again, it all depends on whats been done and how well it was done, as well as your plans.

cant agree more.. id look at the work... all over inside out underneath.. if it was me and the work on the $3000 truck was good id probably buy that knowing i have a solid platform and a pretty complete truck to build from.. from my ranger build i know the little odds and ends all add up next thing you know you got alot of $$ tied up in it just to get it running and driveable... thing is you just havve to sit back and really think what you want to do....and how big of aproject you want..

If the $3000 truck is done well I'd go with that. It could save a lot of valuable time and give you a good running start. Do think you would spend $3000 on the other two to get it to same point as the 80% done truck. I'm at the point I say, spend the extra now and save time. Over the cost of the build it's really not that much, and more importantly, it's done right.
