What the hell... Wheres Digital Designs? or Cerwin Vega Stroker in all this I mean come on nameing JL Audio before either one of those? DD has a 10 inch sub that'll hit 162DB all by itsself??

ive seen mike jones not the rapper hit a 170.5 with 2 of his 5 15's that he has in his van and he has the worlds loudest vehicle that hits about a 175+ but my buddy hit a 174.9 with 1 memphis hpo 10 with a 500d memphis amp it held the record for the power wheels class

well if u know what ur doin u can get high numbers and this was 2 years ago but thats before they went from mic to term lab abd mic u can get high numbers

Dude are telling us that your buddy hit 170.5 db's? couse nobody hits 170 exept those guys with the armored cars with like 120 batts like 100 amps hit 174 MAXX and the windows are exploding HAHA. and another thing tot he original post you looking for a good sub go with massive you seriosly cant beat the quality. anybody thats ever heard it will back that up to.

Yeah, right. two years ago, American Bass owned the DBdrag record with 174.4 with one 18" sub, 8 VFL 150.1's and a complete WALL of batteries.

There is no way 'your friend' can get in the 160s, much less the 170s without a complete sealing job on the vehicle and a shitload of batteries.

the 1 sub was set on mic and mike jones hit that on term lab and we kinda know for a fact that term lab is 10 dec lower than a mic but heres the link to mike jones company

as much as i hate to say this tj's boy mike jones did hit that hard.

I seriously doubt you are going to use that sub for strictly spl because they run at unrealistic frequencies and sound horrible.You cant really combine the ideas of full out spl and the ability to listen to music on a daily basis and enjoy it.So go with a sub that is known to sound good and has the ability to produce mind numbing realistic bass.Image dynamics or jl audio are your best choices.Just look at how long they have been around.They sell subs because they are proven and can sound good and boom in a realistic system in a car ,not in a 3x3 space sealed off from the outside.Tons of subs that are supposed to be the next"king of boom" have came and went but these guys have been around for 15 years.I used 4 15 JLW3 and it was enough to rule my town.It was so loud it would make your eyes water and literally take the breath out of your lungs,but I could still convince anyone that it sounded great.I could comfortably listen too it all day for sq .Use a good x over with a steep slope of at least 24 db per octave and cross it over at no more than 80 hz.It will be loud.When i was shopping for subs in 2001 those 2 brands ironically were my choices and I went with the jl only because I couldnt find an image dealer near me.But either brand is excellent for deep bass that will make girls notice.
