3/4" MDF. It'll stand up better than anything else.

I agree, 3/4 MDF. Easy to use and very strong.

if u are hurting for airspace, you could go with the 5/8 instead of 3/4. you wont notice a difference until you start moving up into bigger series subs and more power. but if its just for normal subs with a couple hundred watts of power, you'll do fine with the 5/8.
