I was asked a question by a friend of mine, that I could not answer with out being 100% sure!

Do you have to have the super ball joints to be able to hit side - side with a forward 4- Link? I have heared people talking about how it puts alot of stress on the 4-Link brackets. What is your opion?

Thanks for the help in advance!FrameLayN88Isuzu

In a triangulated 4-link how does altering the angle of the upper bars in relation the the lower bars affect side hittin'?

If you don't have the super pivots it will bined. I have never heared of some one altering the angle of the upper or lower bars to hit sides.

The link's movement is to twist as the axle twists side to side. If you have a regular bushing it will flex by deforming the bushing material and then return to its original shape when you straighten the axle out. This isn't the intended use of a bushing. It's main job is to allow movement in one plane (up and down along one axis. Urethane further helps to keep it on this path by holding the sleeve even tighter). A superpivot, pivots much like a rod end, many angles of unrestricted movement. Thats why to answer your question directly, you don't NEED them but they will help reduce wear and tear on the joint and allow it to articulate more.
