very odd ball joint problem

well i have a 1967 caddy i was crusing it the oher night riding about 80psi up front 40 in the rear i heard a pop then the right side front tire started rubbin bad i pulled over and figured i had broke a ball joint well iget i back to my job and take a look and i see that the ball joint just seem tohve pulled out the spindle the ball joint is still intact with the nut on the end of it i cant figure this ut any help would be nice

mabey the nut had some play and was riding on the spindle and wore itself through.

This is exactly why I hate press in ball joints. I never have trusted them

screw it just weld it in there is nothin a sawzaw and a welder cant fix

The ball joint is completely intact with the nut still? You sure the spindle hole isn't split in the back?

is it the upper or lower ball joint? the uppers have a wierd brass eccentric thing that adjusts the camber that is pressed into the spindle. did you have a washer under the nut???

i put a big washer on the bottom fixed it for now i am from galveston tx

damn i went to A&M in galveston for a year. drove my cad down there a couple of times from ft. worth. good luck with the repair.
