89-95 Rock guard Question

I shaved the rock guards off the bed.Now the paint is all chipped where they used to be.You guys have any suggestions on how to keep the paint from getting all chipped up?Thanks

check out eastwood.com they have a special clear that you can spray over areas like the hood and bumper and other areas and its supposed to be chip resistant, i saw it in their catalog, but cant remember the name.

adding a little flex additive in your clear will help..but the rock guards are there for a reason lol there aint a whole lot u can do without having something there that will take away from the look of smooth paint

thats why thats the only thing not shaved on my bed.

what is a rock guard i have never seen i before, where is it on the bed ?

my cousion has an extra cab, he just smoothed em and painted his.

3M makes a clear film you put over paint like a water-decal. A lot of people use is on the very front of the hood, not sure if it would stretch into the curved part of the fender, but you could call 3M and ask.

I was thinking about buying some of that 3m clear adheive stuff that they put on the front ends of new cars at teh dealership.
