88 ranger running rough?

My truck acts like it not getting enough fuel or something? It runs but when I step on the gas it just spits and putters and sometime it will backfire and then it will take off and run fine? Some time it will run great more most of the time is does this, anybody have an idea what this could be?

went to work at 7am ran like crap the whole way there!! at lunch at 12 ran great the whole way home then about 6 that night ran like crap but not as bad like it was in the morning? what the hell can it be?

hey bro, i had the same problem with my crown vic. it runs real rough and sounds like it wants to die unless u hit the gas. It turned out to be my TGR valve. Also try checking all of your vacum lines, usually that might be the problem as well.

sounds like the MAP sensor. or the tps

It runs alot better when the weather is colder like arond the 40's and really runs bad when it really hot out?

colder air is always gona make it run better since ur further north....but that does sound like a map or tps sensor.
