Vonage? Anyone Use it?

Anyone use the VOIP through Vonage? I thought about converting my house phone and biz phone over. Just wondering if it has any downsides to being on the internet and the phone at the same time? If you can even do it.

I tried it, my advice dont! It says you can get rid of your original service but you actually need a dial tone for it to work so if you cancel your existing phone service (like I did) then your router they give you wont work. So I dont know how they are making any money, unless there is a way to pay a phone company just for a dial tone. I sent my sh*t back. All one big headache.

i don't have it, but i know one of the big downsides is if you lose power, you lose phone completely until power comes back
