I need an RE expert

I am considering buying a RE product but need some input. I went on REs website and I'm not sure if this is correct but it said that the XXX 12s only need .8 cuft of space for a sealed enclosure. This seems kinda small to me. Also, Has anyone actually ever heard the XXX sub before in a sealed box? If so, how was the sound quality.

My good friend does spl comp with re stuff. I know he has a xxx in his sister's car but I think it's ported. Let me know what all you need to know and I'll see if he can help.

I'm not an expert, nor have I even heard them. .8 sounds good for a small box sub. Kicker Solo's only need .75 I believe, keep in mind you have to add in the space for the magnet and rear part of the sub also, that could put the entire volume up to a cubic foot or more

After displacement, yes, that is ideal for the XXX. You will have to wait for the next generation of there XXX's though, as they are preproduction right now.

The XXX prefers a ported box, as far as SPL is concerned, but SQL, I would go with a slightly larger sealed box, around 1^3

Oh yeah, i have been watching the truck with 8 XXX 12s in it over and over and over I think I heard someone say they have 1250 going to each sub. That would make 10,000 watts into a reg cab truck.. OUCH..

It's not unusual for serious competitors do MORE than 1250 to each coil for burps.

Steve Meade has 4 18" RE MTs, with a Fosgate 1501bd on EACH COIL.

XXXs are nice, but I like the adire brahma. Hah.

I do 1800 to each coil on my DD's thats half power.
