i found a truck on craigslist. i like the truck itself but as the ad says it needs a headgasket. how difficult is this to do. i have fairly decent mechanical skills but i am just wondering if it would be worth it or not. thanks

here is the truck

since its a v6 its should be easier than the 22r. Those 3.0 were bad about blowing head gaskets, might figure on having the heads machined/ milled or possible replacement.

why do you think a head gasket on a v6 would be easier to change that a stright 4?

I just did the head gasket and timing chain on my 22r. it was the first time i had tore into a 22r and it a was easy. As long as you have the factory service manual to fallow you should be fine?

Its just a matter of opinion. I've always preferred tearing a V style motor down over inlines.

I just think of it as 4 cylinders=less shit to worry about or go wrong
