I have a 98 Chevy Tahoe with the 350 and true dual 40serries flowmaster exhaust and no cats. The right side of the exhaust sounds like it is underwater. The left side is fine. I have checked timming, changed spark plugs and wires and removed the cats thinking that they were clouged and causeing the poping or underwanter sound. I have ran 4 bottles of lucus fuel injector cleaner in the trucks gas. I run 89octane as well. What could cause the right side of the exhaust to sound as if it were underwater?

try checking for vacuum leaks on one side of your intake manifold, or exhaust leaks, etc. my caddy did the same thing and it turned out my edelbrock intake manifold loosened a bit on one side. check it by spraying carb cleaner around any possible leak area and listen for any changes in idle speed. good luck
