i figured that i could weld an airbag inside of my strut from above the pressure tube on the flat knob and then weld the top of the bag to the rod...this would work for the back, but how could i do the front? its a 92 nissan sentra and i need to bag it. i have 2 - 4" cylinders layin around and i dunno whether to just bag it or use cylinders? im on a kinda tight budget right now and i can buy aim bags( I KNOW AIM SUCKS! but i can get a bag and 2 valves for 100$ ) but any ideas anyone? thanks in advanced
yea u prolly could do it,and ur right AIM does suck, but there airbags are actually pretty good, i bought a whole air kit last yr from them and i have had 2 replace everything but the BAGS and line
With the McPhearson Setup you will need secure the top of the spindle with a strut (from factory) or a custom made upper a-arm.
If you go with the cylinders that you have right now you will run a very high risk of breaking them off at the bottom threads or damaging the seals inside from when they turn.
With that style suspension the factory strut is what keeps you wheel from buckling in with every bump that you hit. thats why a regular bag will not work (will just rock from one side to the other)
The easiest way is to run a bag strut in the front. We manufacture one that will work with your existing factory struts and allow for the full strut to rotate with your stearing.
