I need a paint job; Body/Paint shops please read

Well i just went by the local body/paint shop and my paint is screwed up (its bubbling in spots) and they said they would fix it, well i go up there today and he said He will fix the spots (he said he would repaint the whole thing, guess he changed his mind)... i asked him bout repainting the whole trtuck the same or a different color... he said it would be $6000... and im def. not payin $6000... I was wondering if there are ne shops in my area (like 75 miles)that can repaint my truck for less money... if so how much would it cost???... ((well 2 prices: same color, and if i want to repaint it to a dark grey...)) ne price quotes would be appreciated thanks....

it all depends on the quality. if you want cheap, you can take it to maacco. probly $700-$1000 will get you a color change. less to stay same color. but then again...its maacco.

He probably told you 6k because of the bubbling. If its all over, you will need to strip the whole car to the metal to make sure that it doesnt come back. 5-6k is about what i would charge to have it bead blasted and bring it back up start to finish.

Trust me You Get What You Pay For!! Just remember that! If you pay $1,000 for a paint job you usually get a thousand dollar paint job. BTW the Maacco here in IN paints over rust, and i am not talking a little bit of rust, I'm talking Chunks of Rust!

its not that bad... its not bubbling all over... theres is like a 2 in by 1 in line of lil bubbles on the tailgate, a lil spot on the bed rail, and 1 bubble right over my tail light... thats bout it... its just really noticable...

The Maaco in Federal Way, WA USED TO do good work for the price... I took my truck in there 2 years ago, and for $700, they did a really nice job with Dupont paint and it still looks good today. However, I did most of the prep on that... I took in a truck there maybe a month ago, spent $1000, and got a truck with half the body work done, lots and lots of dirt specks in the paint, i'm talkin at least 30 or 40 that I have found... they still supposedly run Dupont paint, but they're wasting it by not cleaning their paint booth. The owner told me to bring it back and he'd take care of any problems, if I found any... but I live 2 hours away, and when I got my last truck done there 2 years ago, the previous manager when the service was better told me the SAME thing, and when I went in to get a flaw fixed, he gave me a bottle of touch up and told me to brush it on and buff it myself.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, there was a nearly empty bag of meth under my seat when I got it back from Maaco this last time! WTF!!

The reason i was lookin for a paint job is b/c i am baggin it this christmas, and i was goin to need a new paint job b/c i am puttin custom wheelwells in all corners, and i have the bubbling like i said...
