First of all i Bought a Grant tailgate skin to reskin just the tailgate, not to weld the back end shut. Has anybody else noticed that the grant skins has no curve from left to right? it is perfectly flat from left to right. it does have the right curve from top to bottom. i wish i was told this before i bought it, cause its crap it does not even look like the factory skin on the tailgate.

so you were not gonna weld it shut??? u mean you were just gonna relocate the tailgate handle???

they can add compound curves but thats extra, their rear skins are meant to replace your tailate and smooth out the rear by eliminating it. If you were just looking to shave the handle you should haev got a handle relocater kit.

you were attempting to use it for the wrong app thats what it was jacked up.

well i had them put leds in the skin. i have shaved many tailgate handles and other stuff, i was just gonna give this skin a shot to miniumize body work in the tailgate, i ended up geting another tail gate and shaved the handle, and those little holes towards the top of it and reinstalled the leds in this new tailgate.

get a flat rollpan to go along. Just did the same setup on an f150.

its not that easy cause on a gm truck the bottom of tail gate "inner frame part" is curved so the skin fallows it so it gonna curve at the bottom and not at top. some people would settle for this but i just did not like the look of it. so i cut releif cuts in the flat roll pan and made it curve with the tailgate.
