I got an 02 silverado, stock floored w/ 3x3 tubing..I need to build a trans crossmember..and I need some cool ideas or pics..Only thing is I need the exhaust to run under the crossmember..so the frame is 3" and the exhaust will be??? the engine is a 4.3 ....Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..I know what I can use to make it work..but I want it to look good as well as be strong..thanks

why does it need to be under the x-member?
I used a piece of 2x3 with some tubing welded in to run the exhaust through. i suppose u could always do like a c-notch type thing in it and just have a U shaped cutout to run the exhaust under it.

i would notch it up with some c channel and then use some flattend exhaust tubing or flatten it yourself by laying out on it and there you go voila....an under xmember exhaust. I would mount a pipe in it and go through it if at all possible to keep your exhaust from dragging.

that frame looks good illblazer..I like that idea..I've been thinkin of using 1x1 and have it drop down..I want the exhaust to run under the crossmember to keep as much heat as possible off the floorboard..

my exhaust runs thru my tranny crossmember and i feel more heat from the trans than the exhaust thru the floor.
