Hey guys. I'm having some problems with the tranny in my 88 silverado. It's been bagged for a year and a half or so and it started having problems. What it's doing is getting stuck in first gear and won't up shift. I dont' know if this is a common problem or not because I've heard that these aren't the best tranny's on a bagged truck. Any info you guys have would be great. I'm hoping to get her back on the road soon. I've only driven her once since I got back from Iraq!! Thanks.

its a common problemo in the 700r4, if the bag job is done right, its no diff on a tranny than stock.

Check fluid. If low, add some. If old, change it. Try that and see what that does before planning a rebuild

Might want to try the governor gear on the drivers side at the back of the trans. It may be chipped to hell its only plastic. It fixed my lifted 92.

WELL WHAT ELASE IT COULD BE IN THE 1-2 VAVLE STICKING IN THE TRNASMISSION I HAVE RAN INTO THAT ON SOME BEFORE AND THE 2-3 STICK A LOT TOO BUT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO THEN IS DROP THE VALVE BODY THEN BUT THATS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE UNLESS FIRST GEAR IS COMPLETELY GONE HOPE THIS HELPS
