Always check the offset of the rim. I didn't and jumped into buying some 22's with a +10 offset. I had to get a narrower rearend. I picked mine up out of a cop car caprice. You could just get yours narrowed, but getting a rearend out of a caprice is alot cheaper. As far as the 24's go, I don't know if the caprice rearend would work. I'd probably go a couple inches narrower for the 24's.
Moving on to the bed. You could just body drop the bed so you don't have a cut up haggard bed. You could also get wheel tubs from
www.suicidedoors.com or just get trailer fenders.
The notch... If you think that you might go with 24's one day, try to pick up a larger notch. You could also subframe your truck.
The gas tank does hang a little low, too. A quick solution is to get one out of a tahoe, yukon, or suburban. They all mount in the back.
