i got a real good look at the Xmembers i have to notch and build on my truck, for the gas tank and cab crossmember, how did yal notch em to clear the drive shaft? will i have to cut into the floor if i want to keep my factory alum. drive shaft? and then for the transmission xmember, did yal modify the orig. or build a new one? im thinking of buildin a new one?any tips for when i start cutting heh. pictures?

depending on what size rims you want to run, you can run 22s with just cutting minimal into the cab, not into the cab but cutting a little out of the bottom outer sheet metal. also, all of the x-members have to be notched and you will have to re-build the x-member that holds the gas tank. check out my profile.

iight, i should be able to notch those sheet metal railing under the cab in no time. and ive started building my own tranny crossmember outta rectangular box tubing so thats 1 down 2 to go.. what did you use to notch the cross member that the back 2 body mounts are on? would 1/4" flat bar work ? and for the gas tank xmember, what all is modified? thanks

THE BODY MOUNT x-member i just cut out, didnt really need to reinforce it, but if you want to you can for over measure. the gas tank x-member i welded a box tube cross member on the stock cross member making a bridge.

i did the same as blackmagic, i had to notch into the cab but I didn't actually go into the cab floor, we just notched it all the way up to the floor, didnt reinforce it. On the gas tank crossmember we made a notch out of round tubing...

id rather be safe than sorry, so ill just make a notch out of 1/8" or somethin for hte body mount one.
if i notched the gas tank cross member up before it hits the bed, that would give me the clearance needed? also, there is the strap that supports the gas tank and it looks like it hit the cross member where i would cut it, should i just brign the strap straight up next to the gas tank and secure it like that?
i appricieate yals help, and ill get some pictures of all this while im doing it.

NOTCH 'EM TO CLEAR THEN REINFORCE THEM. I DIDN'T HAVE TO CUT MY CAB. I USED TO WORK AT A RAPID LUBE AND GOT UNDER NEATH IT AND BEAT THE BACK OUT THE CAB UP WITH A RUBBER MALLET. CLEARS WITH LIKE TWO INCHES TO SPARE. ASS FOR THE TRANS MEMBER, YOU CAN CUT AN INCH AND A HALF OR SO(EVEN WITH THE FRAME RAILS) AND GET A PIECE OF 2X4 BOX TUBE 1/4" THICK AND CUT IT ALL THE WAY IN HALF ALONG THE 2" SIDE AND THE TRANS MEMBER FITS IN PERFECT. FIT IT IN AND WELD IT UP. WORKED PERFECT FOR ME. JASON AA N.GA.
