you cant use the same gun you would for regular paint you need to get a very small tip. if you try to spray it out of a regular gun it will lay down like a texture coat. you have to spray the first coat very light and then build it up. if you spray it on too thick it will fish eye. auto air colors dont cover for crap so lay down a base that is close to cover any spots on your truck that are diff colors like primer spots.

u have to have a bake booth for it to work.

its not heat or baking that cures the stuff..its airflow over it..shops setup for waterbase have mass fans to keep airflow going over it...

If you go with Auto Air Colors, DEFINITELY use the Base Coat Sealer (light or dark, depending on what color you're going for).

I painted my Dakota, in my garage, using their products, and it turned out so-so. Considering it was the first time I ever sprayed paint, and I'd never even seen it done before, I'd call that a glowing testimonial.

It's pretty hard to screw up. I managed that, but barely.

Plan on spending a lot of time running a heat gun over the surface.......

I use em all the time and i love em, u just gotta get em reduced right and they can work wonders. i didn't like em at first either, u just gotta get used to em. oh ya, and make sure you use intercoat clear over em before u do any tapin... a shop i was doin work for learned the hard way on that, fucked up half my work....but this ended up turning out nicely, all the graphics on this thing were done in em..

I have used them and I don't care for them as a base color for large coverage. However, doing freehand work such as murals is great with this product. My biggest complaint with the product is that I don't have time to go around and "heat set" my paint between coats neither do I want to risk an expensive paint/graphics job by having paint lift after I'm almost finished.
