well my buddy talked me into helping him put a 2/4 drop on his 03 supercrew, and we got the hangers off by grinding the heads off of the rivets but for all hell we cant get whats left of the rivets out of the holes. any suggestions?

Big hammer or and an air chesel.

well we had the big hammer and an air chissel and it just made a little dent in the middle of the rivets. im thinking we may just have to drill them out. the other times i have removed hangers the rivets pop out real easy with a hammer and punch, but they were all GM products this is my first ford and it is tuning out to be a bi*ch

get a small metal punch and take a torch and you'll have to heat up the rivet and then after it's warm one or two hits with the hammer and punch it will fall right out.

You have to heat them because the rivets are "hot pressed" where they take a red hot tapered rivet and press it in so that when they cool they are tight after they press/smash the heads of the rivets tight.
Even if you grind it all the way flat it will still be real tight and you may not be able to hammer it out cold.

Try the heat, it works real good and easy! Prolly a propane plumbing torch would be fine too, if you don't have a cutting torch.

don't mess with drill'n em, just grind the head off, heat it and whack it with a punch and hammer. Lemme know if you think it's easy? I bet you will....

AFTER YOU CUT THE HEADS OFF AND GET THE HANGERS OFF, CUT THE REST OF THE RIVET DOWN SMOOTH WITH THE FRAME, THEN JUST HIT IT WITH A PUNCH. THATS WHAT I DID WITH MINE. IT WAS HARDER GETTIN THE HANGERS OFF. JASON ACRO N.GA.

those rivets are annoying without air toools..
that was the first thing ive ever done to my truck bout 1 1/2yrs ago.. i had no air tools at all.. took me 18hrs to do both sides... now i could knock it out in 2.
