Ok, so i was wondering if anybody had any info on a turbo 2.3 swap into a ranger, like overall cost of job, donor car used, how much time, what else was need to finish, and how reliable it is....Thanks
ok so you wanna put a turbo in your ride ok well here you go the donor car your looking for is a turbo coupe it came with a turbo charged 2.3L in fact it is a direct bolt it (except for the fact you have to loose your a/c if you have it to make room for the turbo and manifold) but the easy way is to find a turbo coupe engine yank yours out and bolt it in. or you can just get the manifold and turbo and bolt it to your engine but be forwarned un less you bore the head and upgrde the seal you will blow it apart! oh and the earlier the year the types of turbo change around the year 88-89-90 they went to a intercooled system the early systems were dry but ya if you take your time and do it rite it is 100% reliabal ok so i hope i helped umm any more questions hit me up L8R.
I am doing on in my 94 b2300 and you could still have stock a/c you will just have to cut a little of the blower box out. DOnt use your stock motor, go get one from a 2.3t thunderbird or a merkur. Hardest part about the swap is the wiring. I started to do mine, but then pulled the engine to start a stock floor. I think i am gonna do a stand alone on it tho. It will be worth the cash to only have like 5 wires.
