building a custom hood

hey guys, are the hoods on ford f-150's (new body style) made of metal or fiberglass or aluminum??? i would check with a magnet but i cant find one. i dont even have a refrigerator magnet

im sure they are steel. doesnt seem reasonable for them to mass produce a fiberglass or aluminum hood.

im curious because they dont make the standard cowl hoods for my style truck, so i figure i would have one made or make one my self. whats best to use when making a hood? i would think i should form the metal then fiberglass or bondo to smooth it????

most of the late model ford hoods are aluminum. mine is.

ur idea is right.me and simplux made mine out of 6 pieces of sheet metal,1/8 in flatstock and duraglass.check it out

yup im pretty sure its aluminum...

does bondo and aluminum work or is there a special type of bondo to use with aluminum???

there is just read on the can and make sure its ok for it.

i dont know, but the one i checked was steel.
