i dont know about mazda's in particular but unless your truck came stock with a sanden or york the compressor will not last long as a edc.

yeah, most 86-88 mazdas came with the sanden 508. I've seen a few early ones (probably were replaced at one time) and most of the late ones (89-93) with the Nippon compressors, which are not self oiling.

It will say SANDEN right on it, and have a big nut on top to add oil.

its not weird to have a sanden on later trucks, most air systems back then were installed at the dealer and not the factory, so however long their supply of sandens lasted in the factory kit. Here in doo-dah, it gets 99-105 with 85% humidity, most trucks here have air and those that didnt originally had an aftermarket kit installed.

Also there are two types of sanden, the self oiling and the oil mixed.. so make sure you have the right model.. I know for sure the ssanden with the oil nut on top works.

i need to know how much oil to put in there, and how often,or do i just put an inline oiler???details please!!!lol!

I ran an inline oiler on mine for a about 7 months with a driprate of about 1 drop every 30 secs. I didn't rely on this for oiling though. Everyday, I just turn on my compressor and squirt some oil in the inlet. Works fine.

Yager-
