Thats WHATS UP! Great write up and alternate option as well! If I were not planning on Caddi tails or LED strips I would be all over this!

Finally got a little video of my recently upgraded tail lights / turn signals. Figured I would add the video to this thread. Can give details on what was done if anyone is interested.

Ok, what are the details? Also what type of LEDS in the front and rear turnsignals did you use? I like the look of glockgts' leds and how it fills the space, but he hasn't been around in a while so I can't ask him.

Ok, first question - the blink rate is controlled by a ballast resister on the positive wire of each turn signal bulb (each corner). I found the resisters at AutoZone but I suspect anywhere you can get the LED bulbs will probably have the same resisters.

pinklady - the front turn signals actually have 2 bulbs in them. I moved the light sockets that normally are in the front valance up to the normal turn signal area. The clear bulbs have a purple sleeve over them to give a purple light but in reality it looks more pink. Oh well for me but probably good for you.

The bulbs that I am using in the 4 turn signals and the 2 brake lights are very similar to these...

you can find similar bulbs at pretty much any auto part store. those look at lot brighter than most the led replacement bulbs that i've seen.

Interesting. Wonder if mine are any different. Knowing the above is a possibility I flipped on the hazard lights and left them on for like 10 minutes (figuring i would never be waiting at a stop light any longer than that) and they may have gotten up to 110 to 120 degrees but by no means hot enough to melt anything. Probably many different types out there I guess.
