Ok, I have searched past topics about this subject and what I have come out with is that nitrogen is the way to go but the only downfall to this is that nitrogen runs out and then your fucked. Then they say to get a backup (compressor). but what about engine driven compressors? Are they still subject to the same problems as the regular compressors? Being moisture in the lines and that they are noisey and not as fast as nitrogen. So, with that all said, how does engine driven compressor rate against nitrogen. If you had to chose either one, would you still stick with nitrogen?

Why not do both. All nitrogen does is keeps your tanks as at constant pressure. You can also regulate and run it at high or low pressure. Have the bottle for those times you want to hop or dance it at a show or something, but have the engine driven compressor for regular use. An EDC will be substantially quicker than a single compressor. From what ive seen they are rather quiet. The noise gets drowned out by the normal engine noise. So basically my 2 cents is do both if your debating.

ive been running nitrogen for about 2 years now and it gets expensive. i have 3 40 cf bottles and to fill all three with tax is $35-40. and ive gone through 2 bottles in an hour and a half at shows. there not the safest either. when i get my bottles they have ~2400 psi in them compared to at most 200 psi with an edc or 12 volt compressor. if you get in an accident its def not as much to worry about. on my next ride i will have an edc with a small backup 12 volt just in case.

I have a scuba tank on my truck its only 5 dollars to fill and last quite a while i recemend getting 2 of the larger aluminum tanks they hold more air and pressure than the steel plus way less. Also scuba tanks are quick and easy to change.

what are the contents of the scuba tanks, im thinking mostly oxygen, with some nitrogen, and CO2. how much pressure is in the scuba tanks?

I already have 2 small tanks but the reason I'm asking is that to fill my 2 bottles, its getting more expensive. So I'm just considering going to the EDC. I need someone to sell me on switching to the compressor from my nitrogen tanks. That is really what I want to hear. Another thing is that I don't really want to have both. Don't ask why, I just don't. One thing with the compressor, I could install my tank under my bed so then I could make my bed all clean looking with sheetmetal and not have 2 big ass nitrogen bottles sitting in my bed. So, if i get a compressor, I will get rid of my bottles. But then i would have the issues that come with the compressor. So what the fuck

get the comp, run 1 bottle in your bed.if you do that, youll still have the best of both worlds.and will have alil more room in your bed compared to now with 2 bottles.cuz you know there will be times wen your goin to want a bottle (if you get rid of them),and theres goin to be times wen your goin to wish you had a comp (if you dont get 1).im goin to run 2 comps,1 bottle. comps for wen i drive it,bottle wen i go to shows and drive it.fuk it,do both.

york. all the way. heard nothing but amazing thinga baout them. can run like 175-200psi with no worries. theyll make the same noise as an ac/comp. cuz they are. anyhow, they will fill a tank quick as hell.

as far as moisture goes, grab a water/oil separator. like $40-50 and will def payfor itself if it saves 2 valves.

nitrogen is fun, but i see it as impractical for daily use.

Everything you said Ronnie is true. If I get rid of the nitrogen, I will probably miss it I thought about just using 1 bottle instead of 2 and going with the compressor. I dunno, maybe I will come to my senses and realize having both is the way to go
