york. all the way. heard nothing but amazing thinga baout them. can run like 175-200psi with no worries. theyll make the same noise as an ac/comp. cuz they are. anyhow, they will fill a tank quick as hell.

as far as moisture goes, grab a water/oil separator. like $40-50 and will def payfor itself if it saves 2 valves.

nitrogen is fun, but i see it as impractical for daily use.

I hear you can get Yorks at salvage yards but are they reliable or where can you get them brand new?

I know everyone has their own opinions but I run a york compressor with a adjustable pressure swith I usually run 200psi and it fills my 12 gallon tank pretty damn quick when Iam driving around 2500 rpm at idle it really isnt to fast filling the tank but I do have a big tank. I have adjusted my pressure switch to 300 psi and havent had any problems with it, if I was to blow the bastard up it really isnt a big deal I got the compressor at Oriellys any auto parts store will carry them cause they are just a AC compressor and it was only $90 for the comp with a lifetime warranty but you have to buy the clutch too and it was around $150. You need to make sure to get a york with a sealed internal sump cause if not it will blow all the oil through your lines and burn up the compressor, mine still blows a litle oil but not enough to really matter a good coelesent trap will keep oil out

what are the contents of the scuba tanks, im thinking mostly oxygen, with some nitrogen, and CO2. how much pressure is in the scuba tanks?

Scuba tanks are filled with air. This complex mixture is the same you are breathing right now. Most are 80 cubic feet of air when filled to 2600#

hey ball3171982 how is that york of yours workin out filling your tanks up to 300psi? i have heard a few brand new yorks right out of the store make a few weird noises right when they get above 200 psi? i was just wondering what the safe max psi i cant pump up too with my york.

I really wouldnt recommend running it much above 200psi, my buddy blew the entire top half of his york apart seeing how much it would compress, lol. As for the noise Iam not sure about my engine is pretty loud so i couldnt tell you, I bet mine probably sounds like a piece of shit. I can tell you that since I started running a higher pressure that it does seem to burn a little oil now but I only check it about once a month or so, I also only drive my truck on weekends so it doesnt get every day use either

Where can I get a nitrogen tank and the mounts for it?? Also, Since I have 2 Viair 450c's, I probably should replace my check valves. Since the comps are only rated at 150, and I want to run 200 on nitrogen, do you think I should upgrade the check valves?? Thanks!!
