Hey guys, I know I'm not as well known as GD or KEG but my company, Downtime Designs also does renderings on the side. It is not our main emphasis but we enjoy doing them and do not charge nearly as much as the big names. Also our renderings do not all look similar as I have noted with the bigger name companies. The backgrounds usually are similar and all have "the reflection"
However if I did not know how to do them, I would without a doubt go with Nick from Surface. His art is is definatley top-notch.
post some of ur work homie. i searched but couldn't find ur site Most renderings have a reflection because we know how to do a reflection and it gives the rendering more depth.
DowntimeDesigns.com is scheduled to go live on January 1st Don't worry its coming lol. As far as doing a reflection its not all that difficult, anyone who's been playing with photoshop can get into it rather quickly. I am not dissing any of the artists or companies, you guys all have mad skills. My style is just much less "busy" I would say. Not just in renderings, but in design too. I'm not a fan of 10-20 different layers all at different opacities and things, I like to keep things clean and simple. Its just personal style, and I guess my professors have instilled design principles into me that way...
Your best bet in anything is to avoid knocking someone else's style unless you have an example of yours to display. How hard is it to FTP a file to a server and link to it? Not hard at all!
And maybe your Graphic Design Professor instilled something in you... but your English Professor would definitely tell you there is another "e" in premiere (your signature line)
I'm just saying... don't start "dishing it out" unless you have a main course of your own to serve.
