I live in Michigan and unfortunately they use salt like it's going out of style. We've had as much as 6" of snow and the plow truck goes by with the plow lifted, just dumping an ass load of salt, fucking morons. With all of today's technology you'd think they'd come up with something better. Hell yeah....like heated roads and highways. I just might be on to something here. It would melt ice and just think of how much it would help street racer with traction

They can put defrosters on your windows why not in or on the roads?
