help with shaving/smoothing dash

Ok I want to shave the dash on my blazer of all the vents, glove box, gauge cluster ect. But I am not to familiar with fiberglass (should have done a steel one last winter) and I am looking for the best way to go about it.Anyone give me some pointers?

I cant remember who it is, but someone makes a real thick primer, you can spray the dash and it will take all the ridges out. As far as filling in holes, thats not to hard. all you have to do is get a hot glue gun, cut a t-shirt to fill the holes (something strechy, but strong) glue them down, mix your fiber glass and paint about 3 coats on there. After about 1 hour, depending on your glass, it should be done. then use bondo or whatever if needed, paint and your done!

sup chad, well im using fiberglass mat and using resin. I peeled off the plastic that is on the dash already and put the mat over that. I closed the airbag and the a/c vent and for the dash bezal well I have a screen for that(bigger than 12'' ). Oh yea this is a 2000 dash I guess it would be about the same thing.

oh yea forgot Im going to skim coat with dynaglass smooth out and about 4 coats of high build primer. And LOTS of elbow grease

Theres a real thick primer called slick-n-sand.. i have done a couple dashes and door panels with the stuff, it turns out real nice n will stick to nething..

any urethan hi build primer would work. id use fleece in the big holes just like a buildin a fiberglass speaker box.

how could I attach the fleece over just the holes? cut patterns and glue them over them?
In the sence of building a box...couldnt I just remove the gauge cluster, glove box, stereo bezel and just wrap the whole dash and apply the resin?

If you put alot of shit on there your gonna be sanding for months. And the more stuff you add the harder its going to be to get stait and smooth, and it will take alot of the crisp edges off of the dash.

i used abs plastic to fill my holes, then glassed that area. you can get abs at any car stereo shop.
